Ellie is a director, actor and facilitator from the depths of the industrial town of Leigh. Her passion for the arts was born from community theatre at the library, plays in the park and storytelling from the regulars at the pub, who’s pride for their rural roots inspired her to find more stories to tell. She co-founded Ordinary Stories Theatre with the mission of bringing unheard, ordinary people’s stories to life through human connection, joy and art.
Ellie is a graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, graduating from the Drama, Applied theatre and Education BA(hons). This is where she found the rest of the OST team. While studying Ellie completed a placement at Newman Catholic college where she has been running their extracurricular drama club ever since. Over the 3 years she has developed a space for young people to grow and explore current affairs, self discovery and their passion for the arts. Her recent work with them includes an adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s best seller “Nation” which is being performed lasted this year. Students she has taught have gone on to the National Youth Theatre, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama youth programme and Guildford.
Previous collaborations include- A Will and A Way theatre, Stolen Thread productions, TurnPike, Emergency Exit Arts.
